Walking away from the cafe, the tall brunette kept on sneaking glances at his slightly shorter raven haired friend.

"So what happened?" The tall boy asked, once the cafe had disappeared from their sight.

"Nothing."

"Something had to have happened. I mean the way he was looking at you and was talking to you must have meant something."

"Yeah. We're strangers and that he has nothing to say to me."

"Then why didn't you say something to him?"

"What do you expect me to say Changmin? I love you and I want you to be mine?" Kibum snapped, stopping in his steps and turning his head to glare at his friend.

"You could have!" Changmin shouted back.

"Why? It wouldn't have changed a fucking thing."

"You don't know that. And you had a chance to tell him that you like him too. Why the hell didn't you say anything?"

"You didn't see him Changmin. He looked so different up close. He looked a million times more beautiful in person and his voice, it's so angelic. His eyes were warm and his voice was friendly but I just couldn't bring myself to confess to him and taint him."

"Oh come on Kibum. You're not a bad guy. You never cheated, you didn't kill someone, you aren't a bad guy so how could you taint him?"

"By falling in love with someone I can't ever be with."

"So then why the hell didn't you just confess and spend as much time with him as you can before it's too late?" Changmin knew what his friend was talking about. They're been friends since pre-school. Well technically they meet 1 month, 2 weeks and 3 days before they were put in the same class in pre-school.

"Because it's better to not be together at all then to be happy and in love for a certain amount of time and break it off later; which would result in hurting each other and I can't break him. I can't do that to him."

"So it's okay to break yourself?"

"Don't okay, Changmin. You know very well the consequences of what would happen if we ever got together. I can't put him through that. He wouldn't be able to take it."

"You don't know that."

"I don't and I don't ever want him to be hurt because of me."

"Kibum, why can't you just try?"

"I did remember? Did you forget how that ended?"

"Oh come on. That was 4 years ago. That's like ancient history."

"And I've learned from that. To not let history repeat itself. You could say I was foolish and young then. I was 18 but I knew very clearly what I was doing and getting myself involved with. I had trusted and believed in us that we could make it. In the end, we didn't. I'm not going to lose another person that I love just for my own selfish gain Changmin. Not again."

"Bu-"

"Let's just go home. If you want to continue talking about this, then fine but make it at home where they aren't as many people and possibly prying eyes and eavesdropping ears."

"Okay." Changmin nodded, watching his friend take a step forward and walk towards the crosswalk. Changmin stood there for a few seconds and followed. He knew he shouldn't be pressing Kibum into fighting for his angel but he wanted to see his friend happy again. Sure he's happy now but he would be a lot happier if he had his angel by his side.

They both crossed the street and continued their trek home.
