Pairing(s): Kibum x Changmin, Changmin x Jaejoong
Summary: Kibum's a sweet boy. Always has, always been and always will be. Letting go of the past and moving forward, he's still the same. It's this reason that Changmin's hurting.
"It's time to go."
"But am I ready to let go?"
"You are. You just don't want to believe it."
"Letting go doesn't mean forgetting. Remember that."
It's been less than 72 hours, and the words continue to replay in his mind. Jaejoong's words had a big impact on him. He just couldn't get the other man's voice out of his head. It became like a mantra. Constantly replaying over and over in his mind. It was killing him and partially, it felt refreshing. He may say that he doesn’t need the others to worry about him and that he's a big boy but sometimes even a big boy needs his mom. Of course Jaejoong isn't his mom no matter how feminine he looks or acts. It's just nice to have a second opinion.
"You still thinking about what I said?"
"Yeah." Came the monosyllable reply.
A soft sigh escaped the other's lips. Carefully sitting down on the balcony next to the younger man, he placed both cups of hot chocolate down in front of them.
"Are you okay?"
"Should I be?"
"Are you happy?"
"Can I be?"
"Are you going to answer him?"
Jaejoong was getting tired of this nonsense.
"Changmin, look at me."
Changmin said nothing and looked up at the sky. It was dark but not pitch black. It was a mix of midnight black and blue. There weren't any stars out tonight. Just an empty sky to the human eye with a full moon shining brightly against the little gray clouds.
"You have to answer him." Jaejoong stared at his dongsaeng's side profile. His expression didn't change one bit. He desperately wanted to know what was going on in the younger's head.
"Do you love him?" Jaejoong asked quietly. It's not his place to ask but he wants to know. The curiosity is gnawing at his insides.
"Which him do you mean?"
"Kibum. Well this Kibum that's confessed to you and loves you wholeheartedly. The Kibum from the past is gone Changmin. The person may be here but he doesn't remember any of it. All he remembers is you. That he loves you and can't bear the thought of letting you go."
"He doesn't have to."
"Does that mean you accept?" Jaejoong asked in a hopeful voice. He really wanted to see his dongsaeng happy and smiling again. He wanted the couple to be together again and live happily in love.
"When I'm ready, yes."
Jaejoong blinked and watched Changmin carefully. Sighing, he looked away from his dongsaeng and picked up his now luke warm cup of hot chocolate.
"Get over your stubbornness and accept his feelings before history repeats itself. You're lucky that he chooses to forget the past and be with you again. You're really lucky to have him Changmin. Don't miss your chance."
Getting up, Jaejoong walked back into the apartment, closing the sliding frame shut behind him on the way in.
"As if I don't know that. I just don't trust myself with him. Who's to say that history won't repeat itself and that we won't be breaking each other’s hearts again?" Drawing his knees to his chest, Changmin wrapped his arms around his legs and rested his head in between his needs, staring down at the cup of hot chocolate.
"I'm not stupid Jaejoong. I don't want to hurt him again. There won't be a next time if I screw this up. I'm just stalling for time."
A/N: What happened? Well I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of Changmin being a cheater, abusive and continuously hurting Kibum on purpose.
Why am I writing this? I have no idea. Blame it on Ring Ding Dong Piano version.
